No Prep Plans: Series Circuits – Circuit Analysis Board

No Prep Plans: Series Circuits – Circuit Analysis Board
Year 7 Physics | Aligned with Cambridge Lower Secondary Science

Help students investigate one of the most important concepts in electricity with this engaging, hands-on Series Circuits project. In this inquiry-based physics lesson, students build and compare series circuits containing one, two, and three bulbs, measure current using an ammeter, observe changes in brightness, and discover what happens when a circuit is broken.

Students explore the defining characteristics of series circuits, including the one-path rule, current flow, energy transfer, and why adding additional bulbs causes all bulbs in the circuit to become dimmer. Through experimentation, observation, and analysis, students create a Circuit Analysis Board that demonstrates their understanding of how series circuits work.
