No Prep Plans: Mythology Around the World – Egyptian Mythology | Create a Journey Guide | Grades 6–10

Take students on a journey through one of the most fascinating belief systems of the ancient world! In this no-prep Egyptian mythology research and group project, students investigate what ancient Egyptians believed happened after death—and how those beliefs shaped the world of the living.

Students explore major Egyptian gods, the Book of the Dead, the journey through the underworld, the Weighing of the Heart, Maat, Ammit, the Field of Reeds, and the connection between religious belief and real practices such as mummification, tomb construction, and grave goods. They then apply their research to create an Egyptian Afterlife Journey Guide that walks visitors through the journey in order.
