No Prep Plans | Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief: Olympus in the Modern WorldRedesign Proposal | Novel Investigation | Grades 5–8
What if Mount Olympus moved again?
In this no-prep Percy Jackson novel investigation, students explore Rick Riordan’s idea that Olympus follows the center of Western power and investigate the real connections between ancient Greece and the modern world. Students examine Greek mythology, architecture, modern buildings, and the needs of the Olympian gods before deciding where the next Mount Olympus should be located.
Working as a design team, students evaluate possible locations, build an evidence-based “Why Here, Why Now?” argument, plan realms for the Olympian gods, and create a New Olympus Redesign Proposal that combines ancient Greek influences with the modern world.
