No Prep Plans: Chemistry Review
Capstone Project: Matter Around Us Museum Display
Aligns with Cambridge Lower Secondary Science Year 7 Chemistry

Bring an entire chemistry unit together in one engaging, student-centered capstone project! In this culminating investigation, students become museum exhibit designers as they create a "Matter Around Us" Museum Display that showcases the major concepts from Cambridge Lower Secondary Year 7 Chemistry. Students review atoms, elements, compounds, mixtures, acids, alkalis, indicators, chemical reactions, alloys, gas tests, and the particle model while designing an interactive exhibit for visitors.

Working collaboratively, students research key chemistry concepts, plan exhibit panels, organize museum layouts, connect chemistry to real-world applications, and present their displays to classmates. This project encourages scientific communication, creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and synthesis of learning across the entire chemistry unit.

Students Will:
- Review major Year 7 chemistry concepts
- Explain atoms, elements, compounds, and mixtures
- Explore the organization of the Periodic Table
- Investigate acids, alkalis, indicators, and neutralisation
- Explain evidence of chemical reactions
- Apply the particle model to chemical processes
- Examine alloys and gas tests
- Connect chemistry concepts to everyday life
- Design an educational museum exhibit
- Present scientific information clearly and creatively
