No Prep Plans: Mythology Around the World – Indigenous North American Traditions

No Prep Plans: Mythology Around the World – Indigenous North American Traditions | Story, Place & Culture Exhibit | Grades 6–10

Help students understand one essential idea: there is no single Indigenous North American mythology. Hundreds of distinct nations have their own languages, histories, traditions, stories, and relationships with place.

In this no-prep research and group project, students investigate one specific Indigenous nation using nation-authored sources. They explore homelands, language, community life today, and a publicly shared cultural tradition before creating a Story, Place & Culture Exhibit that presents the nation as a living community—not simply a culture of the past.
