The Final Extended Essay Audit | EE Final Readiness Checklist | 11th-12th Grade
The Final Extended Essay Audit | EE Final Readiness Checklist | No Prep Plans
Help students complete one last honest, independent review of their Extended Essay before submission with this structured Final Extended Essay Audit.
Designed for students in Grades 11–12, this no-prep lesson guides students through a comprehensive review of their completed essay, helping them determine what is truly ready for submission—and what may still need one final revision.
Rather than simply checking boxes, students are asked to identify evidence from their own work, recognize strengths and remaining gaps, prioritize revisions, and prepare for a final conversation with their supervisor.
Students will:
- Examine what a genuinely submission-ready Extended Essay should look like
- Evaluate their research question, methods/approach, sources and evidence, subject-specific terminology, analysis, argument and discussion, and conclusion
- Check citations and references, academic integrity, formal presentation, word count, and reflection/RPF requirements
- Identify specific evidence from their own essay to support their judgments
- Distinguish between areas that are Ready and those that Need Work
- Identify their strongest area and biggest remaining concern
- Prioritize two final areas for revision
- Create specific, concrete actions for improving their work before submission
- Prepare focused questions and areas for supervisor feedback
What’s Included
This resource includes:
- Teacher Directions with a flexible 1–2 class-period lesson plan
- Overview of the final Extended Essay readiness audit
