No Prep Plans: Gravity & Orbits-(Planetary Orbits Model)

No Prep Plans: Gravity & Orbits
Research + Project (Planetary Orbits Model)
Aligns with Cambridge Lower Secondary Science
Year 7 Earth & Space Science

Help students explore one of the most important forces in the universe through this engaging research, modeling, and investigation project. Students examine how gravity influences planetary motion, investigate Newton's and Kepler's groundbreaking discoveries, and build a model demonstrating how planets remain in orbit around the Sun.

Through research, engineering design, scientific investigation, and data analysis, students develop a deeper understanding of gravity, orbital motion, planetary speed, and the relationship between distance and orbital period. This project combines Earth and Space Science concepts with hands-on STEM learning and scientific inquiry.
